How to find nail art inspiration: 6 easy tips to create new designs when you're stuck for ideas.

Sometimes, we get a little 'stuck' with finding new nail inspiration for our next nail design. With so many different nail art styles on the market, it's easy to get a little overwhelmed when searching for your manicure style.

I know how it goes... You want something fresh & unique, so the first place you head to is your Instagram or Pinterest feed. Although you may find many designs through your endless scrolling, there are other more exciting ways to find nail inspiration.

In this article, I'll share with you different ways to find your next nail inspiration (that does not involve using a copied nail design), with a few tips to give you a head start for your next nail design 🥰.

What is Nail Art?

Nail art is a form of self-expression used to create a personal style statement. It can also be a bold and creative way to add a touch of pizazz to your appearance. Some people find that it helps them feel more confident, especially when you combine having art on nails as essential as having your hair and make-up flawless. In addition, nail art can be a great way to celebrate a special occasion or to show support for a cause by having bespoke colours or paintings.

Ultimately, the importance of nail art is based on the individual person, the occasion, and the time of year; plus any other goals you may have set for yourself, or your nails.

How to find Nail Inspiration

There is one thing that we can be sure of, the internet is full of different designs and inspiration. However, with the different trending designs, Celebrity nail creations, and Editorials where nails are heavily featured, many popular designs become common. The key to having your own style and nail designs that get attention is to find inspiration that others may not even notice.

Here are a few places you'll find unique nail inspiration:

1. Instagram:

Social media platforms are a great place to find nail art inspiration. There are many super

talented nail artists who share their work on their own platform, and even share with other

artists work who have inspired their designs. When searching for new designs, use hashtags

related to nail art, such as #nailinspo #nailartlover, or my favourite #nailedbynzuri, to find a

variety of gorgeous nail designs.

2. Pinterest:

This visual search engine gives you a photo feed similar to Instagram but it is more to gain,

lifestyle inspiration and ideas on the things you are most interested in. Pinterest is an extremely

popular place to find nail art inspiration, as long as you do not mind many others having the

same design as you do. You can find Clothing, Shoes, Bags, Textures on there to obsess over.

Most of the nail photos that come in for a Bespoke Set come from saved 'Pins' on Pinterest,

however, we make tweaks to the styles and colours to make sure that it is a one-off design

3. Nature:

Believe it or not, Nature is an amazing source of inspiration for nail designs. If you're anything

like me, those simple walks in the park brings a little light in my soul! Everything from the pretty

florals, the green leaves, brown tree bark, and blue cloudy sky can inspire a new creation.

There are plenty of natural patterns and textures that could be used to create nail art styles that

really have the wow factor. You'll also find objects like sand, sea shells, flower petals,

precious rocks and pebbles can influence new creations such as marble designs and patterns.

4. Beauty blogs and magazines:

Many well-known beauty blogs and magazines feature nail art inspiration and tutorials as a

whole section or page. A list of popular blogs and magazines online, including

Cosmopolitian, Vogue, Grazia. You can find their latest issue of nail features and articles by

visiting their website and typing "nails", or "nail art" in the search bar.

5. Nail Salons:

When attending in person to the nail salon, you may get inspired by the latest nail trends that

are displayed on nail art stands or digital photo boards. You can also discuss with

the Nail Artist for advice to bring your nail ideas to life, especially if you have a design in

mind. For Bespoke nail designs, I tend to ask a load of questions beforehand to get an idea

of the overall 'nail vibe' and decide what type of style will suit best, based on the nail length,

shape and all-around goals to achieve.

6. Dedicated Art Accounts and Galleries:

There are many online illustrators, digital artists, nail art galleries, and forums where you can

find inspiration and ideas. You'll be surprised how much inspiration can be found from seeing

the different patterns, murals and artwork from other artists and enthusiasts. You may get ideas

from the colours, textures, linework or style, which can be transferred onto your nails. But like

with every Bespoke Set, you can also ask for feedback and advice to achieve your desired

nail art designs.

So... What if I don't like nail art?

It's perfectly fine if you don't like nail art or if it's not your personal style. We all have different tastes and preferences when it comes to fashion, hair and beauty. It's always best to do what makes you feel comfortable, confident, and happy - if that doesn't include nail art, that's perfectly okay.

There are many other ways to express your personal style and still take care of your nails. You can of this by having your a manicure service where your cuticles are tidied and your nails trimmed, with moisturising sugar scrubs to finish. You could also choose to apply a natural base gel or solid colour gel polish, to give your nails that healthy look and glow. As an alternative to the more detailed nail styles, you could try out other ways to decorate your nails, such as using crystals, stickers or decals, everything is art!

Finding Nail Inspiration: Final Thoughts

While there any many different ways to find nail art inspiration, what style you choose will influence the designs you have on your nails. It's perfectly fine to screenshot photos on Pinterest or Instagram to bring them in for designs, as long as you don't mind 100,000 other people possibly having the same design.

The way I see it, if you find inspiration from other sources, and between you and your Nail Artist, you create something amazing, you'll feel so much better knowing that the design was made especially for you - than simply copied from another picture. Besides, the smile on every client's face when they see the finished masterpiece of their Bespoke Set of nails is truly PRICELESS!
